Icon of the Seas is now sailing, and will be taking passengers to some of the most beautiful destinations in the Caribbean. But just as spectacular as the ports is the cruise ship herself. Icon is the largest ship in the world, and a literal city on the water. Guests will never want for things to do while onboard, and even at the end of your 7 night vacation, you will still be discovering venues and corners of the ship you didn't even know existed.
At Harr Travel, we have spent a bit of time on Icon of the Seas, and know her inside and out. She is a paradise for families, friend groups, and couples looking for a memorable and fun filled vacation. We have created what we believe to be the perfect sea day itinerary for the cruising couple on Icon of the Seas. And while this itinerary doesn't even come close to scratching the surface of all that Icon has to offer, the best part is that you have 6 more days to experience all the rest!
The Morning
COFFEE | Begin your morning with a run to Starbucks for your favorite coffee drink. Take it up the Pearl staircase and to the beautiful Pearl Cafe to relax and sip by the windows and watch the ocean go by.
BREAKFAST | A good breakfast at the Windjammer buffet is the way to go in the morning. Selections from made-to-order omelets, yogurt parfaits, pancakes and waffles, pastries, fresh fruit, eggs, and sausage are always available. Whether you like a bit of a sweet breakfast, want to pack in the protein, or keep it all a bit lighter, it is easy to choose the perfect thing for your morning meal.
RELAX & SWIM | Grab your swimsuit and favorite book, and head up to Chill Island for the rest of your morning. On your way up, stop by Bubbles in Central park to grab a morning mimosa before heading to Deck 17. Claim your loungers at the Cloud 17 Pool, and spend the next couple of hours enjoying the sunshine, a good book, and a dip in the water. If you are feeling thirsty, the Lime & Coconut Bar is just next door.
The Afternoon
THRILLS | Head up to Thrill Island and try out all the water slides in Category 6. At the very aft the FlowRider surf simulator is a fun activity, and you can try your hand at stand-up surfing or bodyboarding.
THE HIDEAWAY | If you feel like getting away from the hustle and bustle of Thrill Island, head down to the Hideaway, the 18+ area onboard Icon. You can grab a drink at the bar, dip your toes in the water of the first ever suspended infinity pool at sea, or make new friends at the hot tub.
LUNCH | If you want a quick bite while you relax and adventure, head one deck down to El Loco Fresh. Here you have all complimentary options from quesadillas, burritos, and tacos. The toppings station is a big hit, offering guacamole, salsa, pico de gallo, and more. Cantina Fresca is where you can grab a delicious Mexican themed cocktail to go with your meal.
SWIM & TONIC THERAPY | Now that you are full from lunch, it's time to relax a bit more. Head over to the brand new Swim & Tonic Bar and Pool. This is Royal Caribbean's first ever swim-up bar at sea, and it is the perfect place to lay in the sun, dip your toes in the water, and sidle up to the bar to chat with the amazing bartenders and have a delicious cocktail or mocktail.
AFTERNOON NAP | Turn in your towels and head back to the room for a quick little nap before your next big adventure. Then change into comfortable clothes and close-toed shoes, and go right back up to Thrill Island.
CROWN'S EDGE | As the sun begins to set, head over to Crown's Edge- a brand new activity that debuted on Icon. You will strap into a harness that is attached to cables on a rail above your head. From the starting gate your will head out on a ropes course around the side of the ship- 16 decks above the water! The last platform will drop out from under you, and a zipline will take you back around to the gate.
MINI GOLF | If you have some time to kill before dinner, grab a putter and try your hand at a competitive round of mini golf at the Lost Dunes course.
The Evening
PRE-DINNER DRINKS | Change for dinner, and then head over to Central Park to enjoy some pre-dinner cocktails at the beautiful Trellis Bar. The live music and bird's chirping will make you forget that you are on a ship at all!
DINNER | Both Izumi Hibachi & Sushi and Chop's Grill are located in the park, and both are a romantic dinner experience. At Izumi the hibachi tables are a very popular option, and the sushi is arguably some of the best food on the ship. At Chop's, you can pick your cut of meat from the butcher's counter, and sit down to a delicious steakhouse meal with many amazing sides and desserts to choose from.
AFTER-DINNER SHOW | The Aqua Show in the AquaDome is one of the most incredible performances you will experience on this ship, and a great option for romantic after-dinner entertainment. Grab a seat and enjoy the acrobatic feats, insane diving tricks, synchronized swimming, robotic enhancements, all worked together to an incredible soundtrack of popular songs and movie themes that will make you feel nostalgic and leave you in awe.
LATE NIGHT ENTERTAINMENT | A quick stop at Dueling Pianos or Boleros for a drink, some beautiful music, or a bit of salsa dancing will add some spice to the evening. Then head to the Attic for some late-night comedy, or check out the incredible rock band performing at the Music Hall to end off your iconic day.
